POSTOPERATIVE COMPLICATIONS ASSOCIATED WITH PELVIC EXENTERATION IN WOMEN WITH GYNECOLOGICAL CANCER: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

ABSTRACT Objective: to identify the main complications arising from pelvic exenteration surgery in gynecological cancer and in-hospital death outcome after surgical procedure. Method: an integrative literature review considering 23 articles published 2012 2020 LILACS IBECS databases. The descriptors used were following: genital cancer, exenteration, postoperative complications, death, combined by means of AND or OR Boolean connectors. Results: applicability was verified for cervical, uterine, ovarian, vaginal vulvar cancer; age associated with comorbidities (diabetes hypertension); total predominant; there high mean hospitalization times due infections. Contributions area: this research enables improvements health care provided PE pre-, peri- post-operative periods, as it elucidates problems resulting surgery, their stratifications management options.
